América Móvil reports on various elements of monitoring and responding to cybersecurity risks for its subsidiaries, but it lacks alignment at the group level. The company has a group level privacy policy for all subsidiaries, which could be enhanced by listing the types of companies it shares personal information with and specifying that users can obtain copies of personal information in a structured data format. The company has several initiatives for online safety for children carried out by subsidiaries, but this should be backed by a group-wide commitment.

The company could make a stronger commitment to open source and standards by sharing project code and public data sets. It could also be more transparent about the diversity of its research and development (R&D) activities, including reporting on women in technical roles and the locations of its R&D facilities.
